02 Jun Farm to Table Potluck Party at Able Farms, Sauvie Island

I hope everyone enjoyed the weather in Portland this weekend.  Nice sunny perfect weather for the Starlight Parade!

I was invited by Able Farms (http://ablefarms.org/) in Sauvie Island, hosting a potluck party.  This farm produces 

Whole Duck, Pork, chicken eggs, duck eggs, Herbs (tarragon, thyme, oregano, rosemary, stevia, Moroccan mint,borage,marjoram, calendula, hyssop), Pickled eggs, etc. 


Everyone there is engaged in farm business and I enjoyed sharing everyone's story at the table.  Girls visited from England, a lady certified with chicken sexing, ladies from milk farm, mom and daughter from Fiddlehead farm (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fiddlehead-Farm/304715386304161) and some others and of course, the owner of the farm, Megan and Jenny.

Every one brought their signature dish:  Kale salad, Fresh picked strawberries, Orzo salad, Cabbage, snap peas & Quinoa salad, rhubarb pie and grilled chicken, pork.  I borough Genki-su and everyone loved it.  


Genki-su will be joining the farm dinner in August and I am so excited to be part of this fun event!

Farm to tAble

Our yearly big harvest farm dinner. A three course meal prepared by chef Jane Hashimawari,  with each course being paired with Logsdon Farmhouse Organic ales. The dinners participants include local honey and mead from  Wessels Family Honey , lovely gelato from Affagato Gelato. We will be collaborating with the Portland Outdoor School with some of the proceeds going to their organization..More details to come!
